British Discount growth creating 200 Scottish jobs

Substantiating the strength of the discount sector, UK’s fastest growing discount retailer B&M Stores, which has became a success story in recent times, is adding 200 new jobs in its three outlets in Scotland.

The jobs would include full-time as well as part-time jobs.

B&M offers clothing and footwear, home-furnishing items and a wide range of other items at discounted prices.

The Liverpool-based firm, which became a known entity on high streets north of the Border post acquisition of several former Woolworths stores, has recently launched its outlets in Blantyre and Dunfermline, and is now set to launch a new store at Robroyston in Glasgow, next month.

The company also expanded its North Ayrshire’s Stavenston based subsidiary to cater to the rising demand, and also launched a new store in Kirkcaldy in March this year, while others are planned for launch in Scotland by year-end.

B&M has ambitious plans to enhance its network, not only by launching new stores, but also by expanding the existing ones.
